A Longview man died Friday afternoon after his motorcycle crashed on KM Mountain.

Robert L. Hearn, 67, was one of four people riding motorcycles eastbound on SR 4. A Washington State Patrolman investigated the accident and said that as the party neared Milepost 25 at the foot of KM Mountain, Hearn's 2006 Honda motorcycle drifted to the right shoulder and collided with the guardrail. The bike continued eastbound along the guardrail, and Hearn was thrown over the guardrail and down an embankment.

Members of the party heard the noise and returned to summon aid. Hearn was wearing a helmet but sustained injuries to his torso and died at the scene.
