Sheriff's Report - November 18, 2010

 

November 18, 2010



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 8--2:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a man who fell out of a bucket truck at a construction site in the Elochoman Valley and possibly broke a leg; a Life Flight helicopter was summoned to aid in transport. 2:23 p.m. A caller reported seeing an unoccupied vehicle down an embankment on the Bradley Mountain Mainline; the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was notified. 3:34 p.m. A hunter reported was lost and suffering from hypothermia in the Willapa Hills; the Hancock Forest Industries security officer located the hunter around 4:24 p.m.

November 9--2:26 p.m. A Middle Valley resident said hunters up Maki Road were trespassing and leaving animal body parts behind.

November 10--12:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman injured in a fall at a Hill Drive residence. 3:08 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid man injured in a fall at a Rosedale residence. 7:10 a.m. Puget Island residents reported a power outage; Wahkiakum PUD was notified. 8:44 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who was very ill. 9:49 p.m. A caller reported a man was violating a court order by drinking alcohol in Cathlamet.

November 11--8:12 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island man who was in great pain. 2:09 p.m. An officer arrested a driver after making a vehicle stop on SR 4 near County Line Park. 6:31 p.m. A caller reported a person was violating a protection order at a Rosedale residence; an officer investigated. 8:18 p.m. A person reported a theft of an aluminum skiff with motor at the Elochoman Slough Marina. 10:32 p.m. An officer arrested a driver after making a vehicle stop on SR 4 near County Line Park.

November 12--5:43 p.m. A caller reported a man at a Rosedale business was violating a protection order; an officer investigated and took the person into custody. 7:16 p.m. Elochoman Valley residents reported a power outage.

November 13--2:18 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island woman with tightness in her chest. 7:41 a.m. Dispatchers reported a caller was reporting illegal activity, possibly by hunters, and then the callers line went dead; wildlife agents were notified. 1:12 p.m. A Puget Island man reported someone had destroyed his mailbox. 6:08 p.m. A motorist reported seeing a drunken driver at a Rosedale business; an officer located the vehicle, stopped the driver and took him into custody on drug and alcohol charges. 7:34 p.m. Cathlamet firemen responded to a fire at Nassa Point. 10:46 p.m. A caller reported a man had obtained gas at a pump at a Cathlamet business and left without paying for it.

November 14--1:28 a.m. Cathlamet firemen responded to a report of a fire on the deck of a tugboat moored on Cathlamet waterfront; firemen found that a piece of hot welding equipment had caught a tire buffer on fire and extinguished the blaze. 6:48 a.m. A Grays River resident reported a case of fraud; a deputy investigated. 4:41 a.m. A Miller Point resident reported a case of harassment; an officer made contact.
