Reardan downs Toutle Lake 55-42

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP)--Chantal Heath scored 16 points and Reardan earned its first Class 2B girls state championship since 1988 with a 55-42 victory over Toutle Lake on Saturday night.

Kelsey Moos added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Indians (25-3), who outscored the Ducks (26-3) 18-7 in the fourth quarter. Christian Carlson scored 10 points for Toutle Lake in its first appearance in a state title game.

Trailing 35-31 late in the third quarter, Reardan went on a 10-0 run that started with Marrisa Dormaier's shot in the lane and ended with Katy Burge's move inside with 6:35 left in the game. The Indians increased the lead to 49-39 after Heath's two foul shots with 3:51 remaining.

Toutle Lake took its first lead of the game at 24-23 early in the third.

Northwest Christian defeats Napavine 41-32

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP)--Kwinn Hanson scored 21 points, including all 17 of Northwest Christian's first-half points, and the Crusaders from Colbert won the Class 2B boys state championship on Saturday night, beating Napavine 41-32.

Hanson hit 10 of 15 shots from the floor, had nine rebounds and blocked three shots for Northwest Christian (25-2), which captured four straight titles from 2006-09.

Tucker Stanley and Reece Stanley scored 10 points apiece for the Tigers (24-4) in their first title-game appearance.

After Hanson staked Northwest Christian to a 17-15 first-half lead, his teammates finally stepped up. Rueben Clark scored six points and Dakota Winward four during a 13-7 third-quarter run that gave the Crusaders a 30-22 advantage.

Northwest Christian pushed the lead to 36-24 on a jumper by Cole Ramey with 5:45 remaining.

Hanson, a 6-foot-5 junior, made 8 of 11 from the floor in the first half, while his teammates were 0 for 10.

Napavine led just once, after the game's first basket.
