Judy Lee Houk

 


Judy Lee (Heagy) Houk died May 25, 2011 in Bend Ore. She was born on May 22, 1940 in Seattle to Errol and Betty (Freeman) Heagy. At two years old, Judy, her father, her new mother Jean and brothers Dennis Lewis and Dennis Errol moved toward the Columbia River region. Her father, Errol working in the ship yards during WWII. With the addition of a new little brother, Steve, the family migrated to Skamokawa where Errol and his brother began a logging business. The family increased by two more brothers, Terry and Ron, and relocated to Cathlamet.

Judy graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1958. She then married Kenny Lentz and the couple had one son, Curt Lentz. after several years in Wahkiakum County, Judy moved to the Long Beach Peninsula and later married Phil Wilson and had sons Jim and Heath and finally daughter Julie.

In 1987, Judy met the love of her life, Dennis Houk. The couple were married in 1991 and moved to Bend, Ore. where they shared custody of daughter Dena, purchased a home and shared their lives. Judy loved her family. She was devoted to her husband, her children and her grandchildren. It gave her such joy to have them near. Judy knitted and donated hats for the Ronald McDonald House. She loved gardening, canning and going to garage sales. Judy had a heart of gold. She remember those other forget. She cared about everyone and was a friend to all. We are grateful for Judy blessing our lives. She has joined our birth mother, father and younger brother in Heaven. We will miss her all the days of our lives and look forward to our reunion. We love you, Judy; see you later.

There will be a pot-luck celebration of Judy's life at their home in Bend on Saturday, June 4 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Judy would have liked donations to the Ronald McDonald House.
