Longtime Grays River resident, Virginia “ShirLee” Badger, 65, passed away June 13, 2011 at her home. She was born January 30, 1946 in Corvallis, OR to Verbal and Polly (Nichols) Carpenter. She married Marvie Badger in 1987; he preceded her in death in 2000.

ShirLee worked as a waitress, cook and bartender all over the local area for many years and was well loved. She leaves behind many friends and loving family and will be remembered for her wonderful heart, fun loving personality and generous spirit.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria Joyce of Grays River, and Charlene R. Bennett of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; her four stepchildren, two brothers, Bill Carpenter and Ron Brooks; two sisters, Peggie Davis and Sandy Brooks; her grandchildren, Hallie, Tessa, Katelyn and Tara; many step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Marvie, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Ecklund in 1974.

No service will be held at her request. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
