J.A. Wendt Elementary and J.C. Thomas Middle schools have released their supply list for the 2011-2012 school year. Students in Grades 1-8 will need swimsuit/towel for September swimming. Grades K-5: An extra pair of non-mark tennis shoes are highly recommended for PE.

Donations of extra items for families in need are welcomed. To help ensure that all students have the necessary materials to be successful this school year, donations are being collected at Bank of America, Bank of the Pacific, and the Cathlamet Blanche Bradley Public Library.

Backpacks are especially welcome, along with the standard school supplies, band-aids, tissues, hand sanitizer. Cash donations to the school supply fund are also welcome.

Kindergarten – Mrs. Davis: 2 large boxes of crayons; 6 Elmer’s JUMBO washable glue sticks (.77oz.); 2 boxes of #2 pencils; 1 pair of Fiskar’s brand scissors. * Please do not put your child’s name on these items. Prepare them to hand them over to be used as community supplies. All supplies will be shared by all students.

First Grade – Mrs. Ridout: 1 Backpack; Liquid school glue 1-2 boxes of 24-48 crayons; 1-2 boxes of markers (not fine tipped); 1 one-inch 3-ring binder; 1 pair of Fiskar’s blunt point scissors; 4 spiral notebooks; At least 48 - #2 pre-sharpened pencils; pencil top erasers; Band-aids; 1 large pink eraser; 6 glue sticks; 1 box wet wipes and/or ziplock bags (sandwich or snack size); Swimsuit and towel for swimming in September.

First Grade – Mrs. Cothren: 1 backpack; 1 one-inch white 3-ring binder; 2 folders for binders; 1 box washable markers; 1 bottle white school glue; 1 package water colors; 6 packages pencils; 2 pink erasers; 4 boxes of crayons; 6 glue sticks; 3 spiral notebooks; 1 pair Fiskar scissors; pencil top erasers; 1 pencil box; swimsuit and towel for swimming in September. Please donate Kleenex, hand-sanitizer, Ziplock bags of any size, and band-aids.

Second grade – Mrs. Becker: 1 backpack; markers (wide or fine tipped); lots of #2 pencils; crayons; 3 sturdy folders; watercolor paint set; 2 pink erasers; Scissors (Fiskar or similar brand); School glue (one bottle); 6 glue sticks; 2 one-inch white 3-ring binders; pencil pouch for 3 ring binder; 2 wide-ruled spiral notebooks; pencil box; clipboard (optional); Band-aids; Swimsuit and towel for swimming in September. When purchasing items like markers, glue sticks, and pencils, buy an extra supply while they are on sale for use later in the year.

Second/Third grade – Mrs. Wilson: 2 packages wide rule school paper; 3 spiral notebooks (individual); 1 composition book; 2 folders; at least 4 packages #2 pencils; pencil top erasers; at least 6 glue sticks ; white liquid glue; colored pencils; crayons; pencil box; pencil sharpener (small, not electric); gallon size Ziplock bags; Band-aid; Swimsuit and towel for swimming in September. Optional: markers, ruler, calculator, clipboard.

Third grade – Mrs. Olsen: 2 packages wide rule school paper; 3 spiral notebooks (individual); 1 composition book; 2 pocket folders; 4 packages #2 pencils; pencil top erasers; pink eraser; ruler; markers or colored pencils; crayons; pencil box; pencil sharpener (small, not electric); glue sticks or white liquid glue; Band-aids; swimsuit and towel for swimming in September. Optional: Gallon size Ziplock bags, hand sanitizer, or wipes.

4th grade – Mrs. Hendrickson: 1 package wide or college rule paper; 3 spiral notebooks; 2 pocket folders; 3 packages; #2 pencils, sharpened; pink erasers; white glue or glue sticks; colored pencils; crayons; 2 thin-tip black markers; pencil box; swimsuit and towel for swimming in September. Optional: Band-aids and baby wipes. NOTE: No 3-ring binders or trapper keepers.

Fifth grade – Mrs. Wright: School or college rule paper 2-3 spiral notebooks; pencils; pink erasers; Elmer’s glue; crayons or colored pencils; Band-aids, Swimsuit and towel for swimming in September.

John C. Thomas Middle School Supply List: 2 3-ring binders; 12 pack colored pencils; 3 10 pack #2 pencils; 2 glue sticks; blue or black pens; erasers; college ruled paper – 500 sheets; swimsuit and towel for swimming in September; PE Clothes – shirt, shorts, socks and non-mark tennis shoes for gym use only. Optional: 4GB flash drive; 2 80 page black and white composition books.
