Lois D. Rodal, 91, of Longview passed away on March 10, 2012 at home. She was born on April 11, 1920 in Coquille, Ore. to parents John and Georgia (Gilkey) Auer. She graduated from Riverton High School in the Rogue River area. In 1938 she moved to Cathlamet.

She and Roy Rodal were married on September 7, 1940 in Cathlamet. In 2005 the couple moved to Longview to be near their daughter. They had a wonderful devotion to each other; he preceded her in death on March 15, 2010. Lois loved cooking and gardening and she was an avid quilter. She and Roy enjoyed their beach house together. She is survived by her son Gary (Linda) Rodal of Brookings, Ore .; a daughter Barbara (Bill) Sundberg of Longview, a brother Charles (Rita) Auer of Danville, Calif .; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by two brothers in death, Don and Jack Auer. A Celebration of Life service was held on March 13, 2012 at Steele Chapel. Entombment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. Lois’ family wish to express their gratitude for the tender loving care she received during her time at Somerset. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Home Health and Hospice, P.O.
