To The Eagle:

I just wanted to share a wonderful story that happened in our little village of Cathlamet.

As the owner of the Villa at little Cape Horn B&B we try to send our guests to venture into town and shop, have lunch and dinner. On Sunday afternoon, we had a couple check in from Lake Oswego, Ore. They were celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary. Janette and Dan are a special couple as Dan just had his 99th birthday. We worried that they may have trouble finding our B&B and Jeanette informed us that she would use GPS and if they got lost they would call us on their new iPhones. They have just traveled around Italy and felt that they could find their way to the Villa.

After their arrival and getting settled into their room, which was up stairs no less, they wanted to go out to dinner, and they had heard that one of our restaurants sells gelato and wanted to eat there. We informed PJ's that they were coming and it was their anniversary. That is when the magic happened.

Lori (their waitress) at PJ's gave them complimentary gelato and a very nice mystery man from our area bought Janette and Dan's dinner. How special is that? When one of our own will take the time to make such a wonderful gesture to complete strangers, and make their dinner something special for them to remember.

We want to thank the mystery man that did this generous deed. This highlighted their trip and warmed their hearts. They were so excited to tell us the story and now want to come back for his 100th birthday. The residents in our county, that do something nice for our visitors is something very special.

I would love to know who the mystery man is that did this special deed, and thank him in person.
