Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

April 23--12:25 p.m. A caller reported hearing a log truck driver firing a pistol into the air in the Mullen Drive area of SR 4. The caller did not see the shot fired and deputies were unable to locate the truck. 1:01 p.m. A caller reported that a driver in a black Suburban had forced several drivers off the road on westbound SR4. Officers were unable to located the vehicle. 3:01 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Seal River Road residence to aid a 50-year-old female with liver problems who was incoherent. 5:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cedar Lane resident with a serious cut to the leg.

April 24--6:27 a.m. A Middle Valley Road caller reported that her 15-year-old daughter had not returned home after a softball game the previous night. At 7:10 a.m., a North Welcome Slough Road resident reported that a second 15-year-old girl was also missing. The girls were reunited with their parents at 9:45 a.m. at the Sheriff's Office. 11:20 a.m. Deputies responded to a two car accident on Columbia Street. No one was injured. 10:26 p.m. A woman came into the Sheriff's Office to report a domestic disturbance. 9:47 p.m. A Messinger Hill Road resident reported a prowler had attempted to open a door and left. 10:12 p.m. A caller reported that a possible murder suspect was staying at Vista Park in Skamokawa. A deputy stopped the man's vehicle and discovered that he was not the wanted suspect. 11:57 p.m. A caller reported a purse had been stolen from school property. She called back the next morning after finding the purse untouched in the school parking lot.

April 25--An East SR4 resident reported receiving a scam phone call from someone pretending to be her grandson. 11:43 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to aid a woman with chest pain. 2:03 p.m. An Elochoman Valley Road resident reported that a neighbor's dog had been getting loose and had injured the caller's chickens. 9:39 p.m. The Grays River fire department responded to a chimney fire at a Makalia Lane residence.

April 26--9:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Oak Point Road residence to aid a man who was bleeding through his catheter. 11:03 a.m. A Fern Hill Road resident reported a mail scam.

April 27--2:10 p.m. An East Valley Road resident reported the theft of copper pipe and a water heater. 2:39 p.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident reported that someone had spray painted a building during the night and left behind an empty whiskey bottle. Deputies responded and ascertained that the bottle was unrelated to the vandalism incident. 3:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and fire crew responded to a Middle Valley Road residence to aid a woman who was unconscious. 3:28 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to the clinic to aid a 14-year-old girl with abdominal pain. 6:15 p.m. A South Welcome Slough Road resident reported a burglary in which a purse had been taken. A deputy investigated and found all items located within the residence and that no burglary had occurred. 7:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a SR 409 residence to aid a woman who was having a possible adverse reaction to medications.

April 28-- 3:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Angle Street residence after a lifeline was activated. It turned out to be a false alarm. 4:16 p.m. An East Birnie Slough Road resident reported some youths were driving a boat at high speed past his residence and harassing and threatening him. A deputy responded and spoke with the boys who admitted yelling, claiming that the caller was recording them. The boys were advised to have no further contact and the caller was advised to seek a non-contact order. 5:43 p.m. A caller reported a water leak on Elochoman Valley Road.

April 29--7:49 a.m. A Columbia Street resident reported that her son was beating up her boyfriend. The caller refused to give a statement and the victim denied anything had happened other than a verbal altercation. The suspect was not on the premises when a deputy arrived; he was unable to verify that a crime had occurred. 4:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an East SR4 residence to aid a 45-year-old male who had fainted.
