Sheriff's Report - July 26, 2012

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 16--3:52 p.m. A Columbia Street resident reported that they were receiving fraudulent emails. They were referred to the Attorney General's office. 6:39 p.m. An East Valley Road resident reported an altercation between two men, near the caller's property. A deputy made contact with both parties. 6:45 p.m. A West SR 4 resident reported that her 19-year-old foster daughter with special needs, had left the house. A deputy located the missing girl. 10:33 p.m. An Eden Valley Road resident reported that her ex-boyfriend had taken their 9-month-old baby without permission. The caller then reported that the boyfriend was returning with the child. 10:41 p.m. A Fairgrounds Road resident reported being harassed. A deputy advised the caller to contact the court for a civil order.


July 17--11:20 a.m. A caller from the Elochoman Slough Marina requested a security check after the theft of some fishing poles. 12:11 p.m. A caller reported a German shepherd and a pit bull were constantly running loose in the 2nd Street area. 1:22 p.m. A deputy made a traffic stop near Nassa Point. One person was taken into custody for allegedly driving without a license and the possession of marijuana. 7:06 p.m. A report was made of a possibly abandoned vehicle on the Elochoman Mainline. A deputy investigated and found the vehicle had a flat tire; attempts were made to contact the owner.

July 18--7:24 p.m. A Glengate Loop resident reported hearing a gunshot from inside a neighbor's house. A deputy was notified and found that a bicycle tire had exploded while the neighbor was working on it in his garage.


July 19--7:27 a.m. A Suncrest Lane resident reported that someone had shot out a rear window on a car. 10:32 a.m. An East Valley Road resident reported that dump trucks were travelling along the road at high speed. A deputy made contact with a driver and advised them to slow down. 10:57 a.m. A caller reported that a woman had been attacked by a pit bull at the marina. 5:04 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop on SR 4 near Jacobson Road. One person was taken into custody on a suspected DUI charge. 10:25 p.m. A caller reported that her 14-year-old grandson was stealing money from her. A deputy was advised before the boy's mother made contact to advise that her mother was having medical problems that affected her memory.


July 20--12:42 p.m. Deputies received information regarding drug activity on Jacobson Road. 3:31 p.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop at the Steamboat Slough turnout on SR 4 and took one person into custody for driving with an invalid license.

July 21--11:37 p.m. An Ingalls Road resident reported being assaulted by a family member. A warrant on the man was confirmed by Cowlitz County. After being located by deputies, he was treated by emergency medical services personnel and taken to a hospital. 11:50 p.m. A Jacobson Road resident reported loud music.

July 22--12:04 a.m. A caller reported juveniles were having a party in the Twin Bridges area. Deputies responded. 11:07 a.m. A deputy made a vehicle stop in Grays River; one person was taken into custody. 3:46 p.m. A caller reported that two juveniles were pan handling for money and causing problems on 3rd Street. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported that someone had broken into his house on West SR 4. A deputy was advised. 10:12 p.m. A report was made of a windshield that had been broken out of a two-ton truck. A deputy investigated. 9:07 p.m. A Boege Road resident reported finding a door open on returning home. A deputy was advised and reported the home was clear.

July 23--2:52 p.m. A report was made of a suspicious person hanging around the Wahkiakum County courthouse. A deputy made contact. 5:48 p.m. A caller reported a possible burglary including the theft of quad bikes from an East Dike Road property in Deep River.
