NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Proposed Amendments to

Wahkiakum County 6-Year and

Annual Construction Programs

Wahkiakum County proposes to revise the Annual Construction Program pertaining to Road and Bridge Construction for the year 2012. In addition, an amendment to the 6-Year Program for the years 2012 to 2017 will be considered. Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 36.81.121 the Board of County Commissioners will hold a hearing on this matter at 11:30 a.m., August 7, 2012 in the Commissioners meeting room of the Wahkiakum County courthouse. All interested persons may there and then provide testimony on this matter.

Amendments to be considered at the hearing include the following:

  Increase in construction funding for the Rural Roads Safety project from federal highway safety grant funds.

 · Provide increased funding for design and construction funding for the Loop Road Slope Repair from Regional Surface Transportation funds.

 · Provide increased funding for the design and construction of the Ferry Replacement from the Regional Surface Transportation funds.

The federally funded projects listed above will require local matching funds.

The proposed changes to the Annual Construction program and 6-Year Transportation Improvement Program are mid-year adjustments to the current programs, and the hearing is distinct from the annual process of preparing construction programs for the years ahead. Separate notice will be provided for the later hearing on next years Annual Construction Program and for the Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program covering the years 2013-2018.
