Sheriff's Report - August 9, 2012

Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 31--9:41 a.m. A caller reported nails had been spilled on SR 4. The county road crew was advised. 12:26 p.m. A caller from the family center reported receiving unwanted phone calls from a Kelso business. 4:06 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to Health and Human Services to aid a 53-year-old woman with breathing difficulties.

August 1--1:28 a.m. A caller from the Skamokawa Vista Park camp ground reported a woman was causing a disturbance and making threats. A deputy made contact and found the disturbance to be verbal only. 1:57 p.m. A Michael Street resident reported receiving harassing letters. Deputies attempted to make contact. 7:04 p.m. A Blue Sky Lane resident reported an ongoing problem with a dog that wouldn't stop barking. 8:48 p.m. A Glengate Street resident reported that her 14-year-old foster daughter had run away. A different caller reported that the girl was at a local business and wished to speak to her attorney. The girl's foster mother states she would contact Child Protective Services.

August 2--5:49 a.m. A caller reported that a tractor was partially blocking West Sunny Sands Road. A deputy made contact with the owner who claimed he would move it within the hour. A call was received at 8:41 a.m. that the tractor was still blocking the road. It was moved shortly afterwards.

August 3--10:51 p.m. A call was received from Cowlitz County that a kidnapping in violation of a court order had taken place. A deputy was advised. The subject was located at 1:19 p.m. and taken into custody. 11:56 a.m. A West Sunny Sands resident reported hearing bullets pass his house, possibly from the Coffee Pot Island area. A deputy was advised. 5 p.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an 81-year-old male who had had a possible stroke at a dock on West Sunny Sands Road. 6:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Delores Drive residence to aid a two-year-old girl who had fallen and hit her head.

August 4--4:51 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an Oneida Road resident with kidney stones who was vomiting. 12:44 p.m. A caller reported a poacher in a boat on the Columbia River. State Patrol was notified. 9:14 p.m. A Covered Bridge Road resident reported illegal fireworks were being let off in the area.

August 5--9:21 a.m. A caller reported that a tree was blocking East Little Island Road. The county road crew was notified. 11:26 p.m. A Delores Drive resident reported that a juvenile had threatened to damage parked cars. 1:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Una Avenue address to aid a 66-year-old male who had cut his hand on an ax. 5:01 p.m. A Rosburg business reported a man drinking on the premises. A deputy made contact and attempted a courtesy transport of the subject to Deep River.
