Samuel Lundgren

 


Samuel L. Lundgren, 65, of Cathlamet passed away at his home on May 23, 2013. Sam was born on July 14, 1947 in Olympia to Samuel and Myrna (McKendry) Lundgren. He was in the US Army for three years prior to starting his career with the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife where he retired after 30 years, in 1999. He was manager of the Beaver Creek Hatchery in Cathlamet.

Sam moved his family to Cathlamet in 1988 from Kalama. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on cars, helping friends and spending time alone. He was a quiet, loving man.

Survivors include son Samuel Lundgren; daughters Wendy Gepner, Billie Jo Gall, Laci Doyle and Amanda Knighten; a brother Dan Lundgren; a sister Dawn Merriman; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in Olympia. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
