October 23, 2013



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 14 – 7:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Rosedale resident who was ill. 11:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident with chest pain.

October 15 – 12:00 p.m. A caller reported that his ID had been stolen. 9:22 p.m. A caller reported that a suspicious woman was sitting on the doorstep of a Rosedale business; the deputy was unable to locate the woman. 9:54 p.m. A caller reported shots being fired in the vicinity of St. James Family Center; the deputy was unable to locate anything. 11:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a resident who had an emotional problem. 11:58 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person walking westbound on SR 4 near Flandersville; a deputy made contact and took the subject to the marina for the night.

October 16 – 6:57 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly resident who had fallen and was unable to get up. 9:15 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of a power tool. 5:46 p.m. A caller reported vandalism at a Puget Island residence.

October 17 – 5:43 a.m. A caller reported two suspicious males walking and carrying black plastic bags on Puget Island; a deputy was notified. 9:48 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a resident with chest pain. 1:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly woman who had fallen.

October 18 – 9:43 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale business when the caller opened a door to pay a bill and set it off; a deputy was advised, and the business owner came to the scene. 9:59 a.m. An Elochoman resident reported finding a dog that was lost. 2:44 p.m. An east end resident reported a burglar alarm; deputies responded. 3:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a West Valley resident who had a head injury.

October 19 – 11:06 a.m. A caller reported that someone had violated an anti-harassment order. 12:52 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious circumstance possibly involving drugs in Deep River; a deputy responded, taking one subject into custody. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported a dead deer on the side of the road in Skamokawa; the state patrol was advised. 3:33 p.m. A caller reported a stray horse running on the road in the Elochoman Valley; a deputy responded. 8:59 p.m. A caller reported a large white truck with flashing lights trying to stop a vehicle on SR 4 near Alger Creek; deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. State patrol and Cowlitz County were notified.

October 20 -- 2:49 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in East Valley; deputies investigated and found out neighbors were having target practice. 3:14 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business.
