Sheriff's Report, March 20, 2014

 

March 19, 2014



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

March 10-- – 12:06 p.m. A vehicle left the scene after hitting a parked car at a Cathlamet business. 3:02 p.m. A caller reported that someone was trying to break in to his residence. 3:44 p.m. A caller reported that cows had gotten loose in East Valley. 5:29 p.m. An unknown male was seen climbing into a window of a barn on Puget Island. 6:51 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident who was having chest pain.

March 11 – 5:35 a.m. The ferry reported that they were temporarily out of service and would need a diver to free them from the unknown snag. 8:13 a.m. A driver ignored two traffic stop paddles on school buses in front of the grade school. 3:34 p.m. A caller complained that her neighbor had trespassed and caused damage to the water line at her pump house. 4:24 p.m. A caller reported three motorcyclists heading eastbound at a high rate of speed on SR 4 near the KM summit. 5:15 p.m. A caller reported seeing juveniles with drugs at Erickson Park; one youth was taken into custody and later released to a parent.

March 12 – 10:21 a.m. Deputies, the Cathlamet ambulance and District 4 Fire Department responded to a traffic accident that blocked the eastbound lane of SR 4 east of Nassa Point. 3:26 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Rosburg resident who was not feeling well. 6:50 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance was sent to a Puget Island residence after dispatch received a call from a woman who was slurring her speech and seemed confused.

March 13 – 5:59 a.m. A caller reported seeing two suspicious men with headlamps and dressed in dark clothing loading items into a pickup truck in the Rosburg area. 8:38 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a medical alarm at a Rosedale residence. 9:23 a.m. A caller reported that a loaded log truck was all over the road. 10:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who was feeling ill. 10:45 a.m. A caller reported cows in the roadway in the East Valley area. 5:38 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid an elderly Deep River resident who was ill. 8:51 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a missing juvenile; the subject was located and returned home. 9:36 p.m. Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a Grays River residence; one was taken into custody after verbally threatening to shoot the other.

March 14 – 9:25 a.m. A caller reported that cows had gotten loose on Puget Island. 10:06 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported the violation of a restraining order. 3:47 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of a sensor light and a dog fence. 4:07 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosburg home; deputies found an open door. The premises were declared clear after a complete search and the owner was notified. 6:49 p.m. A motorist reported seeing a large object in the westbound lane of traffic on SR 4 near the Cathlamet school road. 8:35 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that his house was without power; the PUD was notified. 8:35 p.m. A caller reported seeing two suspicious men enter an old trailer on Puget Island.

March 15 – 9:44 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked in front of a Cathlamet business for half an hour with the engine running and the driver inside. 1:17 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that gas had been siphoned from her vehicle. 2:46 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported being harassed by a neighbor who had accused her of theft and had begun posting signs in her yard stating that the caller was a thief.

March 16 – 8:49 a.m. A door was found open at a Cathlamet business. 10:49 a.m. Deputies responded to a dispute regarding a rental space at a Cathlamet business. 2:09 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa business; deputies responded. A responsible party cleared the alarm. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported a large rock in the roadway on SR 4 at the bottom of Abe Creek Hill. 3:25 p.m. A caller reported that a man with a metal pipe in his hand was yelling and screaming at a Cathlamet residence; the report was declared “unfounded.” 4:15 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle that had been left at County Line Park the day before had rolled and was blocking the RV driveway; the vehicle was towed.
