RESOLUTION NO. _____ -14
A RESOLUTION CLOSING STEAMBOAT SLOUGH COUNTY ROAD
WHEREAS, based upon the report and recommendation of the County Engineer, it appears to the Board of County Commissioners that dangerous traffic conditions are imminent on Steamboat Slough County Road due to heavy construction activity by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and further, such dangerous traffic conditions necessitate the closure of said road between Milepost 1.430 and Milepost 4.990 effective March 31, 2014, and lasting until October 21, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Section 47.48010 of the Revised Code of Washington grants authority to the Board of County Commissioners to close county roads for conditions dangerous to traffic; and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED as follows:
Section 1: Steamboat Slough County Road from Milepost 1.430 to Milepost 4.990 shall be closed effective March 31, 2014 until October 21, 2014;
Section 2: The County Engineer is directed to post signs and/or barricades indicating the road closure established in Section 1 of this Resolution.
Section 3: Upon posting of signs and/or barricades any person violating the terms of this Resolution shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Section 4: The road shall remain open to law enforcement, Diking District No. 4, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, their contractors and cooperators, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers including their contractors and cooperators, and the Wahkiakum County Department of Public Works and their contractors and cooperators.
