February 12, 2015



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 2 — 7:55 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a suspicious man. 10:11 a.m. Cowlitz County asked for assistance in locating an individual. 4:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Skamokawa resident with low blood sugar. 5:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Rosedale residence. 11:15 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that someone with mental issues had been deliberately breaking items in the home throughout the day.

February 3 — 6:52 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 8:16 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who woke up to an allergic reaction and had difficulty breathing. 8:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet resident who was having difficulty breathing due to pneumonia. 8:48 a.m. A caller reported that cows had gotten loose in the Elochoman Valley. The owner was notified. 10:18 a.m. A caller reported a strong smell of fuel in the Rosedale area. 10:35 a.m. A motorist reported a car in an Elochoman Valley ditch. 4:03 p.m. Deputies were asked to assist with a commitment of an individual to involuntary treatment. 5:08 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported possible poachers.

February 4 — 9:21 a.m. Child abuse was reported at a Rosedale residence. Deputies were asked to wait for representatives from Child Protective Services. 12:47 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 1:32 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious man selling a “fake product” on a Cathlamet street. 1:54 p.m. A second call came in about the suspicious man selling a “fake product” on a Cathlamet street. Deputies were unable to locate the individual. 6:05 p.m. An individual at a Rosedale address was arrested on a warrant out of Florida.

February 5 — 10:06 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Puget Island resident who was convulsing and having trouble breathing. 11:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident with an elevated pulse. 12:26 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported getting harassing phone calls. 3:26 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient to the hospital after a possible seizure. 5:02 p.m. A motorhome was reported to have stalled in the passing lanes on KM.

February 6 — 3:17 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an elderly Cathlamet resident who was having trouble breathing. 11:06 a.m. Water was reported to be on several county roads. 2:20 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle sticking out on a Puget Island roadway was causing a hazard.

February 7 — 11:40 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident found a dog. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported that a person who had just come home from the hospital was “hysterical” and had just taken off in a car. The Mental Health Department was notified. 6:30 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported a stolen gun. 6:40 p.m. A tricycle was stolen from a Puget Island home. 7:08 p.m. An underage party with “drinking and drugs” was reported at a Puget Island home. 7:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley resident who had fallen. 8:56 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in Rosburg.

February 8 — 5:25 a.m. Longview Police Department requested assistance in locating an individual whose last known address was in Rosedale after receiving a report that she was being held against her will. The individual was located and was fine. 10:03 a.m. A caller asked that a deputy might accompany her on a welfare check on a Puget Island resident. 1:21 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that power lines were hanging down. The PUD was notified. 3:03 p.m. A burglary was reported at a Rosedale residence. 4:07 p.m. Deputies, the District 4 Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale resident who “would not get up.” LifeFlight was activated. 8:21 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire in Cathlamet. The PUD was notified. All units were told to stand down after it was discovered to be an electrical outlet.

February 9 — 11:01 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported a bad check. A deputy took her statement and got a copy of the check. 6:37 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that his truck had been stolen. 9:28 p.m. A vehicle was seen moving erratically and at high speeds near County Line Park. Deputies responded and an individual was taken into custody. 9:35 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to aid a Grays River resident who had fallen.
