Naselle/Grays River school board notes

The Naselle-Grays River Valley School District Board of Directors met for its monthly meeting on February 17, 2015.

After approval of the minutes and authorizing general expenditures, the board conducted business on the following items:

--Superintendent Lisa Nelson reported the District’s fund balance of $733,814 beginning the month of February.

--Of particular note, the reader board panel at the entryway to the school will be replaced thanks to a generous donation from the Templin Foundation. Naselle-Grays River offered its thanks and appreciation for the generosity of the Templin Foundation over the past several years.

In other business, the marimba band requested a trip to Idaho using funds they have earned through various performances over the past several months. The trip will span a total of four days in May, two of which are school days. The band will play at Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho.

The board also approved the resignation of Chris Dorman as assistant middle school football coach, and approved the hire of Dorman as assistant baseball coach.

The next regularly scheduled board meeting is March 17 at 6:30 p.m.
