Here is the court for Doernbecher week, arranged left to right as freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Front row, l-r, Shanna Batdorf, Cheyenne Barton, Rory Heywood and Sidney Ashe, and back row, l-r, Cody Terpsma, Jack Leavitt, Joey Moore and Nevan Bingham.

Freshmen Cody Terpsma and Shanna Batdorf, sophomores Jack Leavitt and Cheyenne Barton, juniors Joey Moore and Rory Heywood, and seniors Nevan Bingham and Sidney Ashe make up this year's Doernbecher Court. These eight students were selected by their peers and will spend the week competing against each other to see who can raise the most money and be selected as King and Queen of the Doernbecher Court.

Students at JA Wendt Elementary School and John C. Thomas Middle School are in the midst of a penny competition. The class to finish with the most pennies will win a root beer float party.

This Friday at 6 p.m. in the high school gym, Chuck Barton, Zach Brown, Jack Leavitt, Ryan Quigley and Cody Terpsma will be competing for the title of Mr. Wahkiakum. The event has historically involved dresses, a talent competition and lots of laughs. Admission is $1.

The movie Maze Runner will be shown on Friday at 7:30 p.m., after the pageant at the high school. If weather allows the movie will be moved outside and viewed near the football field.

On Wednesday, March 25, the school will gather for an assembly to end the fundraising event. The total amount of money raised for Doernbecher Children's Hospital will be announced and there will be pie.

Pie in the face, that is.
