Strong Family Dentistry presents Free Dental Day Nov. 21

Strong Family Dentistry on West B Street opened in March of this year and took over the residence of the former dental office of retired Dr. Evans. Giving back to the community has been a priority for new owner Brad Strong (DDS), who previously operated locations in Longview and Clatskanie.

A service Strong has brought to the Rainier location is “Free Dental Day,” which takes place Friday, Nov. 21, at the West B street location. Doors open at 9 a.m. for the first appointment. Sign-ups are first-come-first-serve, with the option of one free filling or one tooth extraction. It was noted there is no sedation or nitrous for those that might have high dental anxiety.

“It’s our way of giving thanks to the community for letting us be a part and try and help out some people who otherwise couldn’t get a tooth pulled or fixed,” said Strong. “You can sign up, and we’ll take a phone number. When close to the time, the office will contact you to come down. You’ll have to fill out paperwork and medical history, just like any other new patient.”

Dr. Strong estimates they will be able to see 20 people throughout the day. The service is open to adults and kids but, according to Strong, the office requests that if bringing a child, they are “able to cooperate and sit in the chair”.

“A lot of people put it off, like moms,” said Strong. “They put their extra money towards their kids' dental or they don’t have insurance and think it’s so expensive, or ‘I have this toothache and I can’t afford it,’ so this is a chance for someone to have that taken care of. Sometimes, you’re trying to prevent a big problem or a painful situation and fix it before it hurts because it costs more time and more money. It can be more involved in a lot of ways.”
