Wahkiakum Track & Field

 


The Wahkiakum Mule Track and Field team competed with six other teams in the Pacific County Invite on May 5 in Ilwaco. The boys team took fifth with 17 points, and the Lady Mules placed fourth with 24 points in girls competition.

Nevan Bingham finished in fourth place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.94 and third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.21, a new personal record. Bingham, Thong Phan, Ethan Cothren and Ryan Quigley took third in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:23.50.

Kai Yuan Chan ran the 3200 meters in 15:15.08 and took fourth place. Ryan Quigley cleared 5-06 in the high jump and 17-05.50 in the long jump, placing third and sixth respectively.

Shona Heywood finished the 200 meters in 29.98 and took third place. Cheyenne Barton placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:07.50. Aly Kirzy placed third in the 3200 meters with a time of 16:02.39 and Shelbie Abbot placed sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.35.

The relay team of S. Heywood, Rory Heywood, Barton and Abbot ran the 4x100 in 56.34 and took third place. The same group won the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 2:01.00.

Tarah Wisner placed third in the shot put with a throw of 28-08.50 and took sixth in the discus with a toss of 73-04, a new personal record.

R. Heywood leaped 29-01.50, a new personal record, and took sixth place in the triple jump.

The Mules travel to Napavine on Friday for the Central 2B Sub District Meet.
