John Stewart Boyle of Beaverton, Ore., died on July 25, 2015 at age 91. John was born in Billings, Montana on July 19, 1924 to Peter and Margaret (Stewart) Boyle.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife Sylvia (Joy) after 63 years of marriage. He is survived by their six children along with 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He and Joy spent many happy days post-retirement at their second home on Puget Island. John was an avid and courteous fisherman. His companion was always allowed to bring in the first fish, even if it was on John’s line.

John’s funeral was held on August 5, 2015 with a private inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Cecilia’s Catholic School Scholarship Fund (Beaverton, Ore.) or Providence Hospice St. Vincent Medical Foundation (Portland, Ore). Family Memorial Mortuary of Gresham, Ore., was in charge of arrangements.
