October 29, 2015



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

October 20 — 1:42 p.m. An unknown vehicle was parked in a Rosedale resident’s driveway. 2:07 p.m. A caller complained about a speeding vehicle and expressed concern about another vehicle being towed on a trailer because it was leaning. 2:22 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having complications due to diabetes. 4:59 p.m. A Rosedale business reported that someone had left a bag. The individual was contacted.

October 21 — 7:07 a.m. A motorist complained about nearly being run off the road on the detour in the Elochoman Valley by an oversized vehicle. Another caller had a similar complaint and said that a speeder had run over a dog on the detour. 11:55 a.m. A caller complained about a suspicious vehicle at a Cathlamet school during recess. 4:48 p.m. A caller reported trespass and property damage in the Skamokawa area. 9:13 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after taking a field sobriety test during a vehicle stop on Puget Island.

October 22 — 3:24 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance crew had to break into a Cathlamet home when they were unable to make contact with an individual who had activated a life alert alarm. It turned out to be a false alarm. 5:25 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who was having trouble breathing and wanted transport to the hospital. 2:33 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of trespassing in the Beaver Creek area. 4:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with COPD. 5:05 p.m. A bicycle was found in the middle of a Cathlamet street. 8:11 p.m. A caller complained about a vehicle that was all over the road and well under the speed limit on SR 4 near Nassa Point. The vehicle was stopped in Rosedale.

October 23 — 9:40 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained that his neighbor’s animals were loose and destroying his property. 10:44 a.m. A caller complained about a driver speeding on an Elochoman Valley road. 2:26 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported that a pot belly pig had been shot. 4:56 p.m. A caller reported that a juvenile had attacked her mother in Cathlamet. The juvenile was taken into custody. 8:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Skamokawa resident to detox.

October 24 — 2:16 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported an assault. An individual was taken into custody. 10:50 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle blocking a Rosburg road. 3:29 p.m. A caller complained about a truck on an Elochoman Valley road. 4:31 p.m. A caller reported a non injury vehicle accident in Cathlamet. 5:21 p.m. A caller complained about a truck on an Elochoman Valley road. 6:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a man who had fainted in Cathlamet. 7:52 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle without taillights on an Elochoman Valley road.

October 25 — 11:30 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a wire was down. CenturyLink was notified. 12:58 p.m. A non-injury traffic accident was reported in the Rosedale area. 4:54 p.m. One of the barriers for the detour had been knocked down by wind. 8:02 p.m. A caller reported a fight between a man and a woman on Puget Island. Both parties were contacted. They were uncooperative and denied any kind of altercation. She said that she wanted to cancel his no trespassing order but she wanted her keys back. He said he didn’t have her keys. Despite a prior history of domestic abuse and an arrest, they denied anything had happened that evening. 8:11 p.m. A caller reported seeing three fires burning on a Skamokawa property. He hadn’t seen the property owner. 8:41 p.m. A tree limb was blocking a westbound lane of SR 4 just west of Nassa Point. 8:44 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle may have become disabled on SR 4 on the west side of KM.

October 26 — 9:29 a.m. A motorist was frightened by an erratic driver on an Elochoman Valley road. 9:30 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with abdominal pain. 10:10 a.m. A caller reported that there was no water, food, or shelter for animals at a Rosburg residence. 10:39 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle was running other drivers off SR 4 in the Rosedale area.
