Bank of America is leaving Cathlamet. On October 28, 2015, Cascade Bancorp announced that it would purchase three Washington branch locations from Bank of America. Cathlamet, along with Bank of America branches in Westport and Raymond will become Bank of the Cascades.

The transition will begin on March 4, 2016, when the branches are officially purchased, pending regulatory approval.

According to a press release, checking and savings accounts, IRAs and CDs belonging to local customers will transfer, but credit card accounts, mortgages, merchant services accounts, small business loans, Merrill Lynch investment accounts and others, will not transfer.

Customers will be contacted by email or mail if their accounts are affected. Customers will be able to use their Bank of America accounts, ATM/debit cards, financial centers and drive ups without interruption until the transfer is complete.

The Bank of the Cascades was founded in 1977, according to the press release, and offers full-service community banking through 37 branches in Central, Southern and Northwest Oregon, as well as in the greater Boise/Treasure Valley, Idaho area.
