Sheriff's Report, November 12, 2015

 

November 12, 2015



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

November 2 — 2:54 p.m. A Skamokawa resident who had discovered that dialogue was another tool to deal with his mental health issues called the sheriff’s office because he was feeling agitated and his medication wasn’t working. A deputy was able to help the individual calm down and sort out his immediate problem. 4:52 p.m. Washington State Patrol requested a deputy in Rosedale. 8:53 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to report of a fire on Beaver Creek. It turned out to be a legal burn.

November 3 — 3:14 p.m. A caller reported that she had lost a ring. 5:10 p.m. The sheriff’s office was asked to assist while the Longview Police Department interviewed a Rosedale resident about stolen property.

November 4 — 8:05 a.m. A caller reported a boy wandering in and out of traffic on SR 4 while being followed by a vehicle in the Alger Creek area. An individual was taken into custody for assault, domestic violence and malicious mischief. 8:47 a.m. A caller reported that someone had been trespassing and possibly squatting in a Cathlamet home. 10:24 p.m. A panic alarm was activated at a Deep River home. 1:04 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that an ATM card had been stolen. 3:13 p.m. The lock to a gate at the KM repeater site was found cut and another lock was missing. 4:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Cathlamet clinic patient who was experiencing a high heart rate and dizziness to the hospital. 4:52 p.m. A caller complained about a vehicle blocking an Elochoman Valley road. 9:14 p.m. A Puget Island resident complained about an ongoing problem with a neighbor who was burning plastic despite protests from himself and other neighbors. 10:48 p.m. A Wahkiakum resident was concerned about his wife and daughter who were late coming home from Longview.

November 5 — 3:29 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a medical alarm at a Rosburg address. 4:29 p.m. An individual in Skamokawa was taken into custody. 6:31 p.m. A deputy was asked to assist the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office at a Rosedale address. 7:15 p.m. A Rosburg resident was concerned about an abnormal and increased amount of traffic on his road. 8:04 p.m. Deputies and the District 4 Fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle in a Cathlamet ditch. No injuries were reported.

November 6 — 8:59 a.m. A Skamokawa resident complained about speeding vehicles headed out to the woods. 1:04 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of a fire in Rosburg. They were unable to access the fire and the Department of Natural Resources was contacted. 2:35 p.m. Deputies and Washington State Patrol responded to a two vehicle accident in the Rosedale area. There were no injuries. 3:35 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident who had been checked out of her care center and had not returned. A call came in 20 minutes later from the same person saying that the individual had returned. 4:07 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a Cathlamet clinic patient who may have had a stroke to the hospital. 4:24 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 near Cathlamet. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 5:09 p.m. A Puget Island resident complained that he had tried to obtain a vehicle from his wife, who would not give him the keys. He was advised that it was a civil matter. 6:39 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 8:25 p.m.A caller was concerned because her dog would not stop barking and she had heard something fall outside her Rosedale home.

November 7 — 4:25 a.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Rosburg resident who was having abdominal pain. 8:57 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a trespasser. 1:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was in pain. 7:35 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious man, suspicious vehicles, and suspicious activity in the Elochoman Valley. 8:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet child with a high fever and rash.

November 8 — 7:52 p.m. A Skamokawa resident complained about hunters trespassing on his land. When a deputy responded, the caller reported that he no longer had a complaint after speaking with the hunters who were now on neighboring property. 9:36 a.m. The Grays River Fire Department responded to a power outage in Deep River. The PUD was notified. 9:50 a.m. A caller reported that her child had been sexually assaulted on a school bus. A report was taken, but due to the ages of the suspect and victim, the suspect was believed to be too young to have committed a crime under Washington state law. 10:52 a.m. A caller reported a tree down on a Puget Island road. The county road crew was notified. 6:25 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had become unconscious. 6:36 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle with its flashers on and possibly in a ditch in the Rosburg area. 11:04 p.m. Deputies and an advocate from mental health aided a confused Cathlamet man with possible diabetic complications. The Cathlamet ambulance transported him to the hospital.

November 9 — 8:05 a.m. Deputies, the Grays River Fire Department and the Grays River ambulance responded when an individual was injured in a one vehicle accident on SR 4 in the Rosburg area. 8:51 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business.
