Sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this week: Today (Thursday), high school softball at Wishkah at 4 p.m., high school baseball at Twin Valley at 4p.m .; Friday, high school track at Chehalis Activator Invite at 3:30 p.m .; Monday, high school softball in Naselle with Mary M. Knight at 4 p.m., high school baseball with Ilwaco in Naselle at 4 p.m .; Tuesday, Naselle Comet Invite track and field. Wednesday, middle school track at South Bend at 3:30 p.m., high school softball with Lake Quinault in Naselle at 4 p.m. Go Comets!

On Wednesday, students will be released early at 12:30 p.m. for in-service.

On Saturday, the Naselle Lutheran Church will host it's annual Salad Luncheon from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The luncheon features an array of salads to choose from with a suggested donation of $7. Also available for purchase in the sanctuary will be baked goods, quilts and crafts.

An abundance of tomato plants will be for sale as Tom Hall and Terry Cannon have joined forces with Alfred Simukka in starting seedlings. Here’s your opportunity to get your garden starts from a proven source.

The church is located at 308 Old Knappton Road in Naselle. For further information, call 360-484-3826. The proceeds from this event will go to support missions.

It’s time for the 6th Annual Old Time Logger’s Reunion, also coming up on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Appelo Archives Center located at 1056 State Route 4 in Naselle. This year’s event will be honoring all those who worked at the Weyerhaeuser Grays River Camp 1955-1983. This is always a fun day of stories, old friends and an all around down home gathering. Everyone is welcome.

After a long day of whatever you may have planned, why not check out the annual Spaghetti Feed in the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park on Saturday, 5-7 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert with beverages. Tickets can be purchased at the door for adults $12 and children 8 years and younger $6. Proceeds will be used for operations and maintaining the GRVC.

The Free Friday Night Movie in the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park this week is the fifth installment of an American action spy series released in 2015 and is rated PG-13. The synopsis: “With the IMF disbanded, and Ethan out in the cold, the team now faces off against a network of highly skilled special agents, the Syndicate. These highly trained operatives are hellbent on creating a new world order through an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with a disavowed British agent Ilsa Faust, who may or may not be a member of this rogue nation, as the group faces their most impossible mission yet.”

The movie starts at 7 p.m. Concessions are available with popcorn, sodas and candy for a nominal price.

Looking for a cozy place to enjoy a cup of morning coffee and a little conversation? Check out the coffee group now meeting Monday through Friday mornings at the Grays River Valley Center in the meeting room at the north entrance.

“Magic in the Kitchen” is the theme for the 14th Annual Spring Tea and Luncheon sponsored by the Grays River United Methodist Church’s Friendship Circle. Mark your calendar for May 15 with doors opening at 11:30 a.m., for a delightful afternoon of fun, delicious food, great entertainment and an all around wonderful event. Lots of raffle items as well.

The Rosburg Wednesday Senior Lunch Bunch meets every week in the Rosburg Hall for a great home cooked meal prepared and served by Pat Potter and her volunteer crew.

On Thursdays a senior lunch is also served at the above location and is sponsored by CAP. The meals are served at noon for both venues.
