Celebrate National Night Out on August 2

Wahkiakum residents are invited to join the county sheriff's in celebrating National Night Out on August 2.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.

Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.

"This year in Wahkiakum County," said local coordinator Beau Renfro, "we again encourage everyone to get together with their neighbors on the evening of August 2nd, building community relationships.

"If you would like a sheriff’s deputy to visit your neighborhood’s event, please call 795-3242 or 465-2202 and give them the location and hours of your event."
