The Oktoberfest

September 22, 2016

Alexandra Arness chats with friends Jeremiah, Tristian, and Rita Hinkley of Skook Valley Customs at last Saturday's Oktoberfest. Tristian was enjoying a Reuben sandwich made by the cooks from Clatskanie's Hump's Restaurant which had it's own tent nearby.

The rainy weather kept shoppers and some vendors away from the second annual Oktoberfest at the Elochoman Slough Marina on Saturday.

The few vendors in attendance took advantage of the tent that Paige Lake, the Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce director had the foresight to erect.

Nearby at the 38 River Mile Brewery, Christine Darby was performing her music for a small crowd and Lori Parke was serving bratwurst with all the onions, sauerkraut and mustard anyone could eat.

And just like they were doing in the vendor tent, friends and families gathered under cover and talked about the weather.
