The Lady Mules couldn't get hot. Unfortunately, Kalama did.

The Lady Mules lost to a physical Chinook team in the semifinals of the State 2B Tournament in Spokane on Friday, 48-61.

They will face Ilwaco at 1 p.m. for third and fifth place.

Peyton Souvenir scored 17 points. Maddy Mace had 14 points. Macie Elliott had 10 points. Sydney Hansen and Charlie Ashe added three points apiece. Ellie Leitz had one point.

The Lady Mules shot 31 percent for the game. Kalama shot 50 percent in the first half, 44.6 percent overall.

"Unfortunately, it was just not our night," Coach Rob Garrett said. "It was the best shooting night Kalama has ever had. It was not the best shooting night we've ever had. I thought our girls worked hard all the way till the end. I absolutely love this team and couldn't be more proud."
