Irene Martin to speak at Cathlamet Book Club

Irene Martin, author and historian of the Wahkiakum area will speak to the Cathlamet Book Club on Friday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. This gathering will be held at the Cathlamet Community Center located at 101 Main Street under the Library in the same building.
“Irene Martin, is author of Legacy and Testament: The Story of Columbia River Gillnetters; and A History of Wahkiakum County: Beach of Heaven (among others). She is also a librarian, commercial fisherman, freelance writer, and active supporter of community historic preservation efforts.” (from the back cover of her Beach of Heaven book.)
Ms. Martin has suggested that attendees bring their questions about the history of the Wahkiakum County area for a lively discussion. She will sign books for attendees. She also will have a few copies available for sale.
Refreshments will be served. The public is invited to this free event.
