News from Naselle:

Sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this week: Today (Thursday), high school volleyball at Columbia Adventist at 4:30 p.m .; Friday, high school football in Naselle with Taholah at 7 p.m .; Saturday, high school volleyball JV Tourney at South Bend at 8:30 a.m .; Monday, middle school volleyball in Naselle with South Bend at 5:45 p.m .; Tuesday, high school volleyball in Naselle with Firm Foundation at 4:30 p.m., cross country at Onalaska at 3:30 p.m .; Wednesday, middle school football at Jewell at 4 p.m. Go Comets!

Kids, are you interested in learning/expanding your basketball skills? Coach Gene Quilhaugh will hold a 3 session Basketball Camp at the Naselle High School on September 30 and October 7 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Cost for the clinics will be $25 per player per clinic or $40 per clinic for two siblings and is open for boys and girls in 7th - 12th grades.


Kids will be concentrating on different skills with each clinic, including post moves, point and wing play, ball handling and shooting.

Westend news:

The 10th Annual Columbia River Country Days will be held on October 6 and 7, culminating with the unique Grays River Covered Bridge Dinner on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Bank of the Pacific in Naselle and Cathlamet, and at the WSU Cooperative Extension office in Cathlamet.

The Rosburg Community Club will host their annual Holiday Bazaar this year on October 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Rosburg Hall.

As usual there will be a huge variety of local vendors with lots of items to choose from for your shopping pleasure. To book a table space, call 360 465-2234. The Rosburg Community Club will also be selling goodies at their bake sale.

They will also be serving their delicious luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. including chicken, hot rolls, salads and dessert as well as coffee and juice.

Fall is here, weather is changing and our West End Food Pantry is still going strong. They are open on Thursdays, 1-5 p.m., and are always in need of non-perishable items to replenish their shelves. Dry goods and canned goods can be brought to the Grays River Valley Center at Johnson Park on Thursdays and can be dropped off in their drop box in the center on days when the building is open. Cash donations are always appreciated to supplement items they do not have on hand. For more info please contact Shonda Ware.
