Mule boys lose to Toledo, Toutle Lake

After drawing in the defense, center KC Beery sent the ball back out to the perimeter as the Wahkiakum Mules took on the Toutle Lake Ducks last week.

The Wahkiakum Mules boys basketball team lost two league games this week.

Last Thursday, the Mules traveled to Toledo and lost a close one 46-40.

Zach Brown hit a double double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Logan LaBerge and KC Beery contributed five points apiece, with Beery pulling down seven boards. Evan Quigley had four points, Ashden Niemeyer scored three points, and Luke Brown added two.

Despite their never say die attitude on Tuesday, the Mules were outmatched by an aggressive, physical Toutle Lake team and lost 72-39.

Carlson led the team with 12 points. L. Brown and Beery added seven points apiece. Z. Brown scored five points. LaBarge had four, Isaac Moon had three, and Quigley added one point.

The Mules are at Kalama tonight (Thursday); they travel to Naselle Friday for the KM Trophy game, and they head to Mossyrock on Monday. They'll head to eastern Washington next Wednesday and Thursday to compete in the Colton Tournament.
