Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

December 18 — 3:40 a.m. A caller reported a large rock in the westbound lane of SR 4 in Skamokawa. 8:52 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a neighbor’s aggressive dog had charged at her on her own property. She said it had happened before. She was advised of her right to defend herself. At 3:45 p.m. the resident called and said it happened again. 11:42 a.m. A caller reported that a student who appeared to be intoxicated had run away from school when asked to go to the principal’s office. An individual was taken into custody.

December 19 — 3:55 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident complaining of severe back pain. 12:17 p.m. A driver was given a citation for speeding. 12:55 p.m. A tree fell on a car traveling on SR 4 at County Line Park. 11:59 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident.

December 20 — 12:16 p.m. A caller reported two boats filled with gear tied up to a bridge in the Elochoman Valley. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 3:12 p.m. A caller reported that he was being harassed. He was advised on how to obtain a no contact order. 8:41 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen. 10:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual in the Beaver Creek area who had fallen and twisted his ankle.

December 21 — 4:32 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported the theft of gas. 4:55 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a neighbor’s dog had been chasing his livestock.

December 22 — 9:13 a.m. A caller reported an aggressive dog on Greenwood Road. 12:41 p.m. A Flandersville resident reported that two unknown dogs had shown up at her home. 1:18 p.m. A caller reported an aggressive dog in the Rosburg area. 4:23 p.m. A deputy and the Puget Island Fire Department responded to a house boat fire on Puget Island. 7:11 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that an individual had violated a no contact order. 9:36 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a bleeding problem.

December 23 — 12:19 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with a bleeding problem. 3:10 a.m. A caller complained about a loud party at a yurt at Vista Park. 4:33 a.m. A deputy, state patrol, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a caller reported a vehicle in a ditch on a Puget Island road. The vehicle was found empty. 5:42 a.m. A caller reported that his boat was taking on water in a Columbia River slough. He called back later to say everything was fine. 2:04 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been parked in a fishing access parking lot in the Elochoman Valley overnight.

December 24 — 9:41 a.m. A driver was given a citation for driving without a license. 1:14 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident who had fallen. 1:26 p.m. A deputy and the District 4 Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on the east end of the county. 4:26 p.m. A deputy and state patrol responded to a one vehicle accident on SR 4 just west of County Line Park. No injuries were reported. 10:41 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet address. A deputy investigated and found everything secure.

December 25 — 12:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had suffered a stroke. 12:47 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided an individual with a respiratory issue. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported hearing shots fired in the Rosedale area.
