The Wahkiakum Mules girls basketball team is guaranteed a spot in the 2018 State B tournament in Spokane next week, but right now they are more focused on getting a win against White Swan in regional play on Friday.

According to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's RPI, (rating percentage index), the Lady Mules are ranked the number three team in the state. White Swan is in sixth place. The Cougars are 12-2 in league and 18-5 overall.

"White Swan plays tough defense, so taking care of the ball will be a premium," Garrett said.

"Things have been going great," Coach Rob Garrett said. "I think the girls are really playing some of their best ball right now, especially in the second half. Everyone is starting to really know their role and excel at it. I've been really happy with how hard everyone is woking and it's starting to pay off. I know we are young but we are ready to get to Spokane and make a run! It's the best time of the year, I'm pumped it's finally here."
