Wahkiakum on the Move and others invite public to planning meeting

Wahkiakum on the Move, Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments, and the Accessible Transportation Coalition Initiative (ATCI) invite you to join them on Tuesday, May 22 for an Accessible Transportation User Input Meeting. Come and share your thoughts on the future of accessible transportation in Wahkiakum County and surrounding areas. It’s your opportunity to provide input on the Coordinated Public Transportation—Human Services Transportation Plan (HSTP). Your input will help set priorities for funding opportunities to improve transportation services for people with disabilities, low income, youth, elderly, veterans, and rural residents who do not have the means to get to important destinations on their own.

The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon at The Hope Center – previously known as the Congregational Church, 320 S. 3rd St., Cathlamet.

The CWCOG is the Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO) for the counties of Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Pacific, and Wahkiakum and is the lead agency working on the HSTP. The RTPO is responsible for the development of a Regional Transportation Plan, certifying that countywide planning policies and the transportation element of local comprehensive plans are consistent with the Regional Transportation Plan and for the development and maintenance of a six-year Regional Transportation Improvement Program.

For more information call (360) 577-3041 or email kpearrow@cwcog.org.

If you need special accommodations to participate in this process, call 360-577-3041 by 5:00 p.m. on May 20. Ask for the ADA Coordinator. For TDD users, use the state's toll-free relay service, (800) 833-6388, and ask the operator to dial 360-956-7575.
