The Cathlamet Public Library is excited to have been awarded a Pilcrow Foundation grant award for $1,200 worth of new hardback children's books. The Blanche Bradley Memorial Library Foundation supplied $400, and the Pilcrow Foundation supplied a $800 match, and a list of recent and award-winning titles from which Librarian Carol Blix was able to select books according to the library's needs.

"When the boxes arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find not only the 73 titles we selected, but an additional 23 math and science titles provided by Pilcrow associate donors Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman. The bonus titles brought the grand total to 96 books with a list value of $1,597," she declared.

"Most of the books have been processed and they are starting to be circulated among our young patrons. We are very grateful for the opportunity to apply for and receive the Pilcrow Foundation grant, since as a small library our book purchasing budget can never allow us to meet the wishes of every patron. Without donations and grants, it is also difficult to keep up with the volume of excellent books being published each year. This grant brought us so many lovely new titles," added Mrs. Blix.
