The Wahkiakum County Eagle - Established as The Skamokawa Eagle in 1891

The historic Julia Butler Hansen House, built in 1867-1868, will be open for tours on Sunday, May 19 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., 35 Butler St., Cathlamet.

The JBH House is the oldest house in Wahkiakum County and Cathlamet and was the home of the late Congresswoman Julia Butler Hansen. Four generations of the Kimball Butler and Hansen families have lived in the house. The house contains the awards Julia Butler Hansen received during her 43 years in public office. Tours will be conducted by David Hansen, Julia’s son. There is no admission charge.
