Amateur Radio Field Day June 22-23

To The Eagle:

Amateur Radio Field Day is a nationwide event where several thousand radio clubs simulate a large-scale emergency and attempt to contact as many other clubs as possible in North America. Our local club - N7WAH - is practicing as if there is no public power: batteries and solar recharging only.

The contest runs from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 22 to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday June 23. We will be operating 24 hours straight. Last year we placed fourth in the nation in our category. New this year is our satellite communications station. It looks like something out of Star Wars. Come visit us anytime that weekend, day or night, at the baseball field near the hitting building at Wahkiakum High School.

If you want to learn more before the event, come to our Radio Club evening meeting Tuesday June 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the River Street Meeting Room in Cathlamet, or check out our website at https://www.qsl.net/n7wah/index.html.
