Sheriff's Report, July 25, 2019

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

July 15 – 1:37 p.m. The sheriff’s office received a referral from Adult Protective Services regarding a resident of a Puget Island home. 3:25 p.m. A caller asked for assistance when an individual who had threatened to harm himself had left a Skamokawa home on foot. 4:14 p.m. A caller reported a prowler at his Alger Creek home. 7:14 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 9:37 p.m. A caller reported that vehicles were speeding on a Grays River road. 10:24 p.m. A driver was cited for speed.

July 16 – 3:10 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported hearing someone yelling in a nearby field. 12:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient who had been stung by a bee to the hospital. 3:37 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that she had been kicked out of her home and had not been allowed to get her medications. 4:32 p.m. A caller reported that a restraining order had been violated. 7:03 p.m. A caller reported that an individual had shown up at his Rosedale home and threatened to fight and kill him and another person. 9:58 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at a Skamokawa home. 10:26 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale business. The owner was contacted.


July 17 – 2:53 p.m. A caller reported an accident involving a vehicle and a log truck on SR 4 in Cowlitz County. 5:57 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 11:01 p.m. A power outage was reported at a Puget Island home. The PUD was notified.


July 18 – 9:39 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a restraining order had been violated. 1:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and deputies responded when an individual fell on a boat that had run aground about a mile downriver from Cathlamet. 2:05 p.m. A caller said he had almost gotten into an accident on a Puget Island road when one lane of SR 409 had been blocked for a church event. 6:15 p.m. A caller was concerned about a woman who appeared to be confused and was standing on the fog line of SR 4 near County Line Park. 7:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had a grand mal seizure. 7:33 p.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident near Stella on SR 4. 8:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded when a caller reported that a baby was turning blue at the pool in Cathlamet. Transport to the hospital was refused.


July 19 – 7:45 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that her water tasted foul. The PUD was notified. 8:24 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a drop in water pressure. The Town of Cathlamet water department was notified. 8:51 a.m. Mud and water were flowing in the Columbia River near the intersection of Columbia Street and Jacobson Road, causing a landslide, according to a caller who was on the river. The town was notified. 2:04 p.m. A caller reported finding a gillnet that had washed up near Strong Park. It was retrieved. 5:16 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 7:34 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that he was building a recreational fire in an approved fire pit on West Sunny Sands Road. 9:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance assisted a youth who had received an injury after being bucked off a bull during the bull riding event in Skamokawa. Transport to a hospital was refused. 10:18 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island residence.


July 20 – 1:13 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had been having seizures. 9:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was dehydrated and had lost consciousness. 10:53 a.m. A tow truck was requested for a vehicle that was blocking a Cathlamet street. 1:14 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island home. Deputies responded and secured the residence. 7:03 p.m. A caller reported that a bag of items had been stolen from a boat at the marina. 8:10 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 9:26 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and deputies responded when a barbecue caught fire and burned a hole through a deck on a building in downtown Cathlamet. 11:03 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 11:11 p.m. A driver was cited for speed. 11:18 p.m. A caller reported a loud party at a Rosburg home.

July 21 – 3:13 a.m. An agency in Cowlitz County requested a tender from the District 4 Fire Department to assist with a structure fire on Willow Grove Road. 9:15 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a vacant home in Cathlamet. 11:47 a.m. Deputies, the District 4 Fire Department, and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to the report of a tractor on fire in a field in the Elochoman Valley. 1:51 p.m. A caller reported that a chest freezer was in the middle of SR 4 in the Deep River area. 5:06 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported hearing dogs barking all day. 5:37 p.m. A caller reported that a child had been sexually assaulted. 5:40 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that he had told a trespasser to get off his property. 8:04 p.m. A Deep River resident reported that a suspicious vehicle with a load of trash in back had just driven on to his property. 10:28 p.m. A driver was taken into custody after a vehicle stop, and his car was towed.
