The Skamokawa Resort was burglarized Wednesday night, and the Wahkiakum County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in catching the thieves.

Here are the early details:

Around 11:30 pm Wednesday night, Aug. 14th, the store was broken into and cigarettes & alcohol were stolen by a teenaged male with longer, shaggy dark hair. He was wearing a “Wahkiakum High School” hoody and driving a boxy type SUV the size of a ford escape or jeep, unknown color. The suspect came back to the store two more times between 11:30pm and 01:50 am Thursday morning, and brought 1-2 more suspects with him, as seen on video. Once officers get a copy of the video and still photos, they will post them. A lot of inventory (thousands of dollars worth) was stolen over the three trips to the store.

Officers ask people to start talking to your neighbors and see if anyone knows anything about this burglary. Call the Sheriff's Office with any information, 360 795-3242 or, from the Westend, 1-877-795-3910.
