Silver Buckle Series

September 5, 2019

The fourth show of the series had a good turn out. We had a couple of new riders, lots of returning riders and ties in two age groups.

We had two new riders in the Pee Wee Class, Kaitlyn Jessee and Whitney Ellenbolt, both from Kelso. A new rider in the novice class was Jessi Harmon, and we welcomed back Baily McKinley.

Placings for the show are as follows:

Pee Wee: 1. Kaitlyn Jessee, 2. Abby Doan, 3. Tru Most and 4. Whitney Ellenbolt.

There was a tie for second place, between Abby Doan and Tru Most. We did a polo run to break the tie. These two girls have been the ones to watch this year. At 11 and 10 years old, you have to wonder how these two little girls can handle their big horses, going as fast as they do.

12-18 yrs. old: 1. Hope Norwood, 2. Lucy Kosa, 3. Brooke Meyers, 4. Makayla Davis.

This was an exciting group to watch because there was a three-way tie for first place. Again we did a polo run to determine first, second and third places.

This was a big upset because Makayla Davis has been the front runner for this age group.

19-35 yrs. old: 1. Kristina Heiner, 2. Desi Harrison, 3. Olivia Weisenborn. and 4. Ashlenn Coleman.

36 and over: 1. Susan Potter, 2. Ed Hunt, 3. Sunni Thoreson.

Novice: 1. Grace Hunt, 2. Baily McKinley, 3. Iliey Reid and 4. Adriane Cram.

If you are keeping track, these are the placings that count for the series high point awards. The daily high point winner was Susan Potter. The Texas Barrel Jackpot winner was Makayla Davis.

Our final show of the series will be September 14. The gate will open at 8 a.m. for registration and warm up. As always we would like to welcome people to come and watch. It's fun and exciting.
