Gertrude (Trudy) Leona Blain died April 21, 2020. She was born July 25, 1947 to Frank and Edna Blain of Rosburg. She grew up in Rosburg and graduated from Naselle High School in 1965. She married Ronald Kimball, they had a daughter and later were divorced. She met and married Don Byman, they had a daughter and later were divorced.

Trudy was an adventurist and with her two girls moved to Michigan. They also lived in Colorado, California and Oregon. She settled in Longview where she met her best friend and love of her life, Chuck Turnbull. They had 38 years together, living most of them in Rainier, Ore.

In Trudy’s younger years her favorite job was working with the calves on a dairy farm in Rochester. Later she was a bartender, cook in a restaurant and managed a mobile home park. She made and sold beautiful silk flower arrangements. She loved collecting crystal and fine bone china tea cups and saucers and also ceramic teapots. She loved to sew and garden, she had a green thumb. Later in her life she discovered a passion for doing acrylic paintings. She painted many pictures for her family and friends. Trudy was always trying to help someone who was down and out.

Her most cherished moments were spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include Chuck Turnbull, at home; daughters Laura Kimball of Gonvick, Minn., and Sharyn Williams of Clatskanie, Ore .; stepson Troy Turnbull of Rainier; brothers Steve (Laura) Blain of Grays River and Jim (Karen) Blain of Benton City; sister Lorraine McNally (Tom) of Cathlamet; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece and a great niece. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

Green Hills Crematory of Kelso is in charge of arrangements.
