December 17, 2020

Patricia Ann Ingersoll, age 73, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Kaiser Permanente Sunnyside hospital in Clackamas, OR. At the time of her death, she resided in Longview, WA with her husband Rodney and twin sister Priscilla.

Patty and her twin sister ("womb-mate") Priscilla were born in Medford, OR on May 15, 1947 to Stephen and Ida May Huitt. Patty and Prissy came home to Central Point, OR to join their older sister Karen and two and a half years later, their brother Dana joined the family.

Patty was a 1965 graduate of Gold Beach Union High School and shortly after married Rodney on March 27, 1966 in Gold Beach, OR. She and Rodney had two children, Mark and Mary.

She worked at the Curry County Assessor's Office and was the Curry County Treasurer for almost two terms but had to retire due to health issues in 2003 after more than 30 years of service with Curry County. In addition to working at the county, she also completed the paperwork for Rodney's business, Curry County Masonry. She had an amazing memory and was often sought after based on her vast knowledge of county facts and land descriptions.

Patty and Rodney retired to Puget Island in Cathlamet, WA, where Rodney built two homes. In 2019, they sold their Puget Island home with a beautiful view of the Columbia River and moved to Longview, WA. She was active in her church, both in Gold Beach and Cathlamet and taught Sunday school for decades. She volunteered throughout her life and was loved by many. She enjoyed going to the YMCA in Longview to do water aerobics with Prissy. She also loved visiting with people, sharing meals, traveling with her family to Mexico, Hawaii, Texas and Alaska and doing things for others.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney; son, Mark, daughter-in-law, Irma, grandson, Isaac, granddaughter, Priscilla; daughter, Mary, son-in-law, Doug, grandson, Malachi; sister Karen Strawn; sister Priscilla Gray; brother Dana Huitt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the River of Life church building fund in Patty's memory at P.O. Box 9, Cathlamet, WA, 98612.
