Several Wahkiakum basketball players and a coach received high honors this past week as Central 2B coaches made their selections for league MVPs and first and second teams.
For the girls, Jansi Merz and Paige Mace shared top honors as the league’s MVPs.
Reigha Niemeyer and Emerald Niemela were named to the second team, while Megan Leitz garnered an honorable mention.
Rob Garrett, a Wahkiakum High School alum and coach of the Mule girl’s basketball team, was named the Central 2B Girls Coach of the Year.
For the boys, Jake Leitz was selected co-MVP along with Kalama’s Jackson Esary.
Brodie Avalon was named to the first team, and Logan LaBerge made the second team. Brody Carlson was given an honorable mention.
