Town announces contest for new flag design

August 26, 2021

Mayor Jacobson invites Cathlamet residents of all ages to create a flag design that best represents what Cathlamet means to them, what the town is known for, and/or what makes Cathlamet unique, which he hopes will inspire pride and excitement among community members.

The contest is open to Cathlamet residents of all ages. Designs must be provided in color, 3:5 ratio, and be submitted by the original creator of the artwork. A brief description of the design's symbolism is encouraged. You can find a complete list of contest rules and guidelines on the entry form, which is available at Town Hall or online: http://www.townofcathlamet.com.

An entry form must accompany each design. Submissions must be received by 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 30, and can be mailed or delivered to Town Hall, 375 2nd Street, Cathlamet, WA 98612, or emailed to townhall@townofcathlamet.com.

First, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive $100, donated by Mayor Jacobson, and the winning design will be used to create an official flag for town hall.

The town council plans to announce the winner in October after reviewing entries this fall. The town reserves the right to alter, modify, combine, and deny any designs.
