Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

September 12 — 7:50 a.m. Tree branches were blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 just east of Flandersville. 9:28 a.m. An alarm was activated at a church in Cathlamet. It turned out to be a false alarm. 2:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance provided lift assistance to a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 3:59 p.m. A caller reported that juveniles were riding quads at high speeds and without helmets in the Bradley Trails area. The caller said that there were small children riding quads without helmets as well. A deputy responded and found 25-30 people in the area, but only saw one minor riding a quad. The adults were cautioned. 4:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a dehydrated hunter on West Valley Road. 5:07 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had broken into his truck. 6:54 p.m. A caller reported a brush fire at the fairgrounds in Skamokawa. A deputy and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded. The fire was out by 7:23 p.m. 8:36 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check for a juvenile who was injured, driving, and unwilling to come home. 10:23 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with high blood pressure. 11:17 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business. A deputy responded and found a door unlocked. A responsible party was notified and en route. 11:37 p.m. A caller reported a recreational fire by the guard rail along SR 4 near County Line Park. A deputy responded.

September 13 — 12:25 a.m. A caller reported that a woman appeared to be sleeping in a car that was partially parked in a Puget Island roadway. 11:17 a.m. A caller reported that someone had struck his vehicle and broke a mirror. 12:28 p.m. An east county resident reported that a trespasser tore down a surveillance camera on his property. He had a picture of the individual. 2:06 p.m. A caller reported that two vehicles were parked in the parking lot behind the community center. One vehicle had a flat tire and had been there for over a week, and the other was in a handicap parking spot, without handicap tags or a placard. One vehicle was moved and the other was in the process of being moved after a deputy responded. 8:03 p.m. A motorcyclist had an accident on Steamboat Slough Road. He had a dislocated shoulder and knee pain, and was in and out of consciousness. A deputy, emergency personnel from Skamokawa, and Medix responded. Dispatch attempted to contact a parent after the individual said his father would pick up the motorcycle. 9:19 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported in Cathlamet. A caller said there was fighting and screaming, and that a subject may be under the influence. Deputies responded.

September 14 — 12:17 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Cathlamet business. A message was left with a responsible party. 8:37 a.m. A caller reported that a 24 foot cargo trailer had been stolen from a Cathlamet address. 9:06 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported fraud. 10:21 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had an ankle injury. 10:53 a.m. A caller reported an individual that may be driving without a license. A deputy responded but could not locate the vehicle.

September 15 — 12:59 a.m. A Deep River resident reported that someone was in their boathouse, and there was an unknown vehicle parked in front of their gate. He said he had heard a boat around 12 a.m., and then saw a vehicle pull up slowly in front of his home. A deputy responded and checked the area with the owner. There was no damage and nothing appeared to be missing. 9:22 a.m. A panic alarm was activated at a Cathlamet office. A deputy responded. 2:20 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that she was being harassed. 2:47 p.m. A tree limb was hanging in one lane of a Cathlamet street after it was struck by a semi truck. Public works was notified. 3:36 p.m. A caller said a tow truck was obstructing the view of traffic at the corner of SR 4 and Main Street in Cathlamet. She said she spoke to the driver about her concern, but he was rude and ignored her.

September 16 — 8:30 a.m. A caller reported an abandoned vehicle on a Grays River road. 10:51 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident complaining of chest pain and high blood pressure. 12:47 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading east on SR 4. 6:18 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported at a Grays River home. An individual was taken into custody. 7:26 p.m. A caller reported finding a crack pipe in the driveway of a Rosburg church after a car pulled up and someone rang the church bell. 10:35 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver heading west on SR 4 near Flandersville.

September 17 — 10:02 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 1:27 p.m. A caller reported an illegal burn at a Rosburg address. The Grays River Fire Department responded. 2:09 p.m. A Rosburg resident reported a computer scam. 2:29 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosburg resident. 3:03 p.m. A caller requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 9:43 p.m. A caller reported a power outage in Grays River. A power line was found hanging about two feet off the ground in Cathlamet.

September 18 — 12:48 a.m. A tree was down and blocking the eastbound lane of SR 4 just west of County Line Park. 2:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who had muscle cramps and had fallen. 10:27 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that the power had been out for several hours. The PUD was notified. 10:52 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on a Puget Island road. 11:38 a.m. A Puget Island resident said that paperwork and CDs had been stolen from her vehicle. 1:49 p.m. A welfare check was requested for an Alger Creek resident. 6:13 p.m. A caller reported that a branch was on a power line in the Skamokawa area. The PUD and the county road department were notified. 9:12 p.m. A caller reported that a neighbor was playing loud music. 9:36 p.m. A caller said that someone had knocked at his door asking if they could tie up their boat at a neighbor’s dock. Their boat was running out of gas and there was something wrong with a part. He was afraid the boat would sink, but someone was coming from Long Beach to get them gas. A deputy spoke with both parties.
