This year, The Wahkiakum Chamber of Commerce's 36th Annual Crab and Oyster Feed was enjoyed by 600 people, a record number. This could never have been accomplished without all the volunteers (Chamber board members, Bank of the Pacific employees, the High School FFA students and local citizens) cooking and serving, and a new location, the gorgeous Columbia River Ranch to host the event.

"I actually started coordinating this event back in November. There are so many little details that go into an event like this, but once it starts, it just flows. Watching all the volunteers working so amazingly together, the High School FFA students were working machines and so polite, and all the patrons were having a great time, eating tons of oysters and crab. We represented our community like rock stars!" said Monica Budd, event coordinator.

At the end of the night, there was a raffle held. All the items were donated by local businesses. Every item was very greatly appreciated since the proceeds will go to Bald Eagle Day Fireworks, another Chamber sponsored event that takes place the third weekend in July. The grand prize winner of the Pit Boss Smoker (donated by Cathlamet Building Materials, Bill Faubian Law Office, Hanigan Law Office, Stanleys and Wahkiakum West) was Steven Doumit of Cathlamet.
