June has a lot of activities scheduled

Skamokawa News

NOT GREAT--Those who were counting on a nice Memorial weekend in which they could spend three days in the sun, certainly were disappointed. Most of us definitely saw more rain than sunshine as this month came to a close. Here's to a sunnier June.

SPECIAL DAYS--Those celebrating birthdays from June 2-8 are Becca Keilwitz, Ryan Helms, Robyn Longtain, Jill Havens, Terry Vik, Derrick Bardsley, Michael Wegdahl, Tori Wegdahl, Blain Fritzie, Justin Elfers, Lamar Blix, Rodney Ingersoll, Justin Lindsey, Chloe Cothren, MacKenzie Stevens, Johnnie Pegrollaz, Shannon Cochran, Scott Ahrndt, Brian Good and Michaela Sechler. My apologies for leaving out 67er Mike Hicks from my birthday list last week. He celebrated on June 1.

Those celebrating anniversaries this week are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bergseng; Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Melton, Mr. and Mrs. Skip Nortrup, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kyle and BJ and Sharon Service. May all of your birthday and anniversary doings be special.

NEW MONTH--It's hard to believe we are into another new month. Hello, June! This means we have a whole new set of activities, so we hope you'll enjoy them:

June 2 - Senior lunch at the Hope Center in Cathlamet at noon.

June 3 - The start of the weekly Farmers Market and Trunk Sale at the marina each Friday, 3-6 p.m., through September 2.

June 4 - "Cruizin' to the Fair" car show at the fairgrounds. Come on down and join the fun!

June 10 - Wahkiakum High School Class of 2022 graduates. Congratulations!

June 11 - Flea Market at Fairgrounds, opens at 9 a.m.

June 11 - Bingo at the Norse Hall on Puget Island, Doors open at 5:30; games at 6 p.m.

June 24-26 - Annual Puget Island Garage & Yard Sale (PIGYS). Get on the map and sell all those extras and make a little extra cash, too.

REDMEN HALL--There will be a new exhibit at the historic hall here in Skamokawa, so the Friends of Skamokawa (FOS) hopes you'll check it out, as well as the views and the gift shop items. Call 360-795-3007 for more information.

SYMPATHY--We want to send our sincerest sympathies to the family of Jeannine Moore who passed away May 17.
