Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

June 5 — 6:57 a.m. A caller accidentally dialed 911. 7:55 p.m. An inebriated woman was pounding on the bar and screaming in a Cathlamet establishment. She refused to leave. A deputy responded and advised that the results of a preliminary breath test were 0.258. The Cathlamet ambulance was called. 8:37 p.m. A Grays River resident reported that two men and a woman tried to steal his catalytic converter during the night. He said he had the incident on video and asked for an extra patrol of the area.

June 6 — 8:33 a.m. Needing to disconnect service, the PUD asked that a deputy accompany them to a Puget Island address after the customer made “veiled threats.” 9:55 a.m. A caller said that the town wanted his vehicle moved, but he had given the keys to someone he was currently unable to contact. He asked for assistance. 1:50 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a co-worker who had not contacted anyone in several days. 6:43 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that the neighbor’s dog had come into her yard and become aggressive with her and her dog. She said that when she tried to talk to the neighbor she was told to get back in the house and to “f*** off.” A deputy responded and the neighbor received a potentially dangerous dog warning for their black lab. 7:30 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver heading east on SR 4. During a vehicle stop, a deputy requested a drug recognition expert after the individual’s PBT registered 0. The driver admitted to using meth. A decision was made to release the individual with another licensed driver.

June 7 — 9:52 a.m. A deputy responded to County Line Park after a visitor refused to put a leash on his dogs. He agreed to leave. 11:46 a.m. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded to a Cathlamet business to aid a man who may have had a heart attack. 2:13 p.m. A caller reported that a Cathlamet resident had been missing for over 10 days. A deputy was able to locate and speak with the individual, who turned out to be living in Medford. 2:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was having breathing issues. 7:24 p.m. A caller reported a pedestrian walking with his back to traffic on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area.

June 8 — 3:07 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that her boyfriend would not leave after he assaulted her. She said he was outside in his car. The caller said she was in the house and that she had a handgun. Deputies responded. 7:44 a.m. A Puget Island landlord reported a civil dispute with a former tenant and asked to talk to a deputy about a civil standby. 9:03 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that her boyfriend had returned to her home after a domestic disturbance. He left, heading south. Deputies were unable to locate the subject. 9:39 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with an unknown problem. 10:37 a.m. A caller reported that a truck and trailer were blocking a Cathlamet street. 12:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient to the hospital. 3:53 p.m. A caller reported a large rock in the middle of SR 4 near County Line Park. 6:01 p.m. A caller reported that a boat trailer was on fire on Main Street in Cathlamet. Deputies were able to extinguish the fire. 8:34 p.m. A caller reported that a truck at Vista Park did not have license plates, though the utility trailer it was towing did have plates. 11:19 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that her boyfriend was threatening to burn down the house and commit suicide by cop. She was not home and did not know his location. She later said he had been texting and threatening to kill her. A deputy and state patrol responded to the home and cleared it. A family friend agreed to secure the residence and stay for the night. The sheriff’s office tried to make contact with the caller, but there was no answer. They decided to follow up the next day.

June 9 — 10:38 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle in a ditch along Beaver Creek Road. 12:56 p.m. A Deep River resident was concerned about a neighbor’s reckless driving. 9:37 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that a neighbor had been trespassing on his property at night. He had confronted the neighbor and feared retaliation. 9:37 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle had been sitting in a parking lot in the Elochoman Valley for the last hour. 10:20 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious circumstance at a home on Columbia Street. It turned out to be men working for the owners.

June 10 — 10:23 a.m. A wallet was found on River Street. 1:25 p.m. The sheriff’s department received an Adult Protective Services referral for someone in a Skamokawa home. 1:42 p.m. A caller reported a sharp metal object on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 2:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient who was bleeding from his ear after an ATV accident. 5:20 p.m. A caller reported that there were barriers blocking both lanes of Beaver Creek Road. 5:20 p.m. Deputies responded to a Puget Island home after someone dialed 911 and hung up. No one appeared to be home. 7:22 p.m. A driver was stopped for crossing the double yellow line on SR 4.

June 11 — 2:48 a.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle with the lights off had stopped at a neighbor’s house on Risk Road. 8:55 a.m. A caller reported that a no contact order had been violated. 9:13 a.m. A caller reported that someone had fallen from a roof in the Elochoman Valley. The Cathlamet ambulance responded but the caller said they were taking the person to the hospital in their own vehicle. 12:09 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that the neighbors had filled a ditch on his property with garbage. 3:54 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that neighbors were trespassing on his property. 4:09 p.m. An outside agency asked the sheriff’s department to make contact with an individual in Rosburg. 5:56 p.m. An individual involved in a domestic disturbance in the Elochoman Valley was arrested. 8:18 p.m. A caller reported that seven quads and dirt bikes were riding on the Alger Creek main line. 10:12 p.m. A caller reported someone in dark clothing walking west on SR 4 in the Cathlamet area.

June 12 — 12:33 a.m. An alarm was activated at an Alger Creek home. Deputies responded after learning homeowners were out of town. A house sitter was at the home. 6:07 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Rosedale resident. The caller called back a little later to cancel the welfare check. 11:41 a.m. A gun was found under a bed in a Vista Park yurt. 2:48 p.m. A caller reported that someone had been shooting for over 20 minutes in the Elochoman Valley. 9 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident complaining of chest pain.
