Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 1 — 9:44 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident.

January 2 — 10:45 a.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Deep River home after a caller said he stopped by to check on the resident and found him unconscious. 1:25 p.m. A man was arrested following a domestic disturbance at a Rosedale home. 2:37 p.m. A caller reported that several fishermen were trespassing on his Elochoman Valley property. A deputy responded. He found two separate fishing parties; four people in total. He gave them a verbal warning and advised the property owner to put up more No Trespassing signs and cameras. 3:50 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Deep River resident who was vomiting blood. 10:08 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident asked for assistance with a youth who was becoming increasingly agitated. A deputy responded and spoke with both parties and provided information on resources.

January 3 — 1:08 a.m. A Cathlamet resident was found on the floor after possibly suffering a stroke. The Cathlamet ambulance responded. 9:31 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that his mailbox had either been vandalized or struck by a car. 9:44 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported that water pipes on his property appeared to be intentionally cut by a saw. 10:04 a.m. A Cathlamet resident repairing a fence alleged that his neighbor took some of the materials. A deputy responded. 3:25 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver on SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. The vehicle was stopped in Cathlamet. A drug recognition expert was requested but unavailable. The individual was arrested. 3:58 p.m. A caller reported that a firearm may have been stolen from a Rosedale address. It was last seen mid-December. 4:19 p.m. A disabled black Mercedes with significant damage was found in the parking lot at Nassa Point with a battery charger plugged into an outlet belonging to the property owner. The vehicle’s identification number was missing and no owner or driver was found. The property owner was advised to have the vehicle towed and the driver trespassed. 4:20 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that a neighbor was putting stuff on his property. A person was trespassed. 4:22 p.m. A caller accidentally dialed 911. 4:43 p.m. A burglar alarm was activated at a business west of Cathlamet. An attempt was made to contact a person responsible for the property and a deputy responded and found the building secure. 10:08 p.m. A caller reported that a man was having a mental health issue in the back parking lot of the Wahkiakum County Courthouse. A deputy responded and the person was transported to Willow Grove trailer park.

January 4 — 1:12 a.m. Emergency personnel in Skamokawa responded to a Skamokawa home to aid a person who hit her head in a fall. 11:07 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a woman sleeping in a vehicle all day on Jacobson Road. 12:21 p.m. A two car accident was reported on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. A deputy, the Skamokawa Fire Department, and Skamokawa emergency personnel responded. 1:42 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to a South Welcome Slough home after a lot of smoke was reported to be coming from the chimney. 7:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was found unconscious. 10:35 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department responded to an Elochoman Valley home after the carbon monoxide alarm was activated. After determining that nothing was showing on the gas meter, the house was turned back over to the homeowners. 11:08 p.m. A caller reported that people with flashlights were walking around the vehicle abandoned on her Nassa Point property. A deputy responded and spoke to two people. They were the registered owners and they planned to move the vehicle that night.

January 5 — 12:17 a.m. An assault and a stolen phone were reported by two people in a vehicle heading west on SR 4 near County Line Park. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle. 9:42 a.m. A caller found two dogs wandering on Elochoman Valley Road and trying to get on a school bus. The caller brought the two dogs home. A deputy left a message with a possible owner. 10:45 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident. A deputy responded and found the individual safe at home. 12 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident, but the caller later canceled the request. 12:02 p.m. A power outage was reported at a Cathlamet home. 1:43 p.m. A caller said a child was assaulted by his father. The man allegedly reached into a vehicle while it was on Main Street in Cathlamet and struck the youth before heading into the market. 1:58 p.m. A large trash bag was blocking the eastbound lane of SR 4 near the bottom of Abe Creek Hill. 3:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident with back pain. 3:45 p.m. A dog was found on the refuge. The owner was located. 6 p.m. A caller requested assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 6:45 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported possible extortion.

January 6 — 2:22 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 9:34 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported that she was being harassed. 9:54 p.m. An East Valley resident requested assistance when a family member became agitated after taking a bunch of pills. 10:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who was detoxing. 11:14 a.m. A caller reported that a former partner was not following a parenting plan. He called back later to say the matter was resolved. 2:02 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded when a fire alarm was activated at a Puget Island business. The owner said the fire department could stand down. 3:39 p.m. A caller reported that family members were victims of fraud. A deputy contacted the caller. 4:09 p.m. A caregiver at an east county home was concerned about her patient’s spouse who was not making sense and had become aggressive. The caller said the man owned a gun and a sword. Several deputies responded. 4:54 p.m. A caller reported that a possible drunk driver pulled off at County Line Park. A deputy responded and spoke to the driver, who said he was tired and exhibited no signs of impairment. 8:05 p.m. A caller was concerned about a friend who said he’d hit his head after he fell off his boat and was now behaving irrationally. A deputy spoke with the man; he refused aid. 11:48 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy aided a Cathlamet resident who may have had a seizure.

January 7 — 12:37 a.m. A caller reported a westbound pick up speeding and passing unsafely on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 12:50 a.m. A caller reported two intoxicated people trying to get into a truck on Main Street. The vehicle was later seen heading west from Una Street with a tail light out. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 1:58 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance provided a lift assist for a Rosedale resident. 2:07 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a resident on Greenwood Road. 3:40 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported a missing person. He was later discovered to be in Cowlitz County jail. 6:02 p.m. A caller said a friend needed assistance after her vehicle broke down on SR 4. 6:08 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle in the westbound lane of SR 4 about a mile west of County Line Park. A deputy responded; the vehicle was out of fuel and moved out of the lane. 6:18 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who may have broken an ankle after falling off a step.

January 8 — 12:08 p.m. A man hiking in the Fossil Creek area needed assistance after becoming two weak to walk out. The Grays River ambulance, a deputy, and the Grays River Fire Department responded. The man was able to make it to the road, but was dizzy and exhausted. 3:39 p.m. A suspicious man was found sleeping in a vehicle in the Elochoman Valley. Deputies responded and a field sobriety test was started. 4:42 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident complained about a neighbor’s barking dog and said the neighbor was behaving strangely. A deputy determined the issue to be unfounded because only one person in the neighborhood was complaining about the dog. 5:46 p.m. Multiple vehicles were reported at Kent’s Bridge. A deputy responded and issued a warning to a person for failure to immediately enter information on a fishing catch card. 8:46 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at the KM transfer station after seeing three to four vehicles there with several people standing around.
